It was a perfect California day for Caroline and Jake’s Inn at Rancho Santa Fe wedding in San Diego. Family and friends had traveled across the country from NYC to celebrate the couple and were thrilled about our California weather. Minimalist details, personal touches, and post-dinner espresso martinis made this classic California wedding a memorable day for the couple and their guests. As a San Diego wedding photographer, I love capturing every detail of each couple’s style. Read on to see more beautiful details from this San Diego wedding.
Caroline and Jake first met in college at a Superbowl party. The timing wasn’t quite right. Some time passed and after college, the couple eventually reconnected through a friend and began dating. The rest is history!
Caroline wore a gorgeous beaded Liz Martinez gown. Jake showed off his love of chess with a set of custom chess cufflinks.
From the couple:
“We were so excited the day of the wedding we both woke up at the crack of dawn together. We separated to get ready and spent the morning with our longtime friends and family laughing and anticipating the day. It was a little nerve wracking right before the first look but once we saw each other we both felt at and ready to have a good time. The rest of the day was pure bliss. It made us so overwhelmingly happy to have all of our friends and family in one place and witness them genuinely have a great time. The speeches by our friends and family were very so heartful, they made us laugh and cry.”
The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe showcases classic Spanish revival architecture and lush eucalyptus trees throughout the property. Having grown up in California, Caroline knew they wanted to take advantage of the amazing weather and natural scenery the area had to offer. This San Diego wedding venue was the perfect fit with outdoor settings for the entire wedding and accommodations for all of their traveling guests.
The couple decided on a minimalist palette of white and black with chinoiserie blue and white vases as a pop of color. Flowing canopies and hanging lanterns made the perfect setting for a California alfresco dinner reception.
A personal touch the couple included was espresso martinis. Caroline and Jake love this delectable cocktail when they head for a big night out. Guests were served espresso martinis after dinner to get them energized and pumped up to hit the dance floor!
